Labyrinth Walk

Beginning September 22nd, Hillside will host a labyrinth walk event, similar to the second Friday monthly event at Grace Cathedral.  The Hillside Labyrinth Walk will be held on the fourth Sunday each month at 7:00.  The main lawn area and the western meditation garden will open at 6:30.  There will be live music played from 7:00-8:00, after which the labyrinth and grounds will remain open in silence until 8:30. The labyrinth will be stored at Hillside when it is not traveling to other sites.  We anticipate that the labyrinth will be used for the monthly event at Hillside, at other churches and with groups as a labyrinth ministry, and by groups using Hillside who want to have a labyrinth available at one of their sessions.

The labyrinth is to be dedicated to Howard Torpey in recognition of his hard work for this denomination — on General Council, on the SF Church Council and as a member of that church, and as President of the Society. Also, the idea for this event evolved from Hour of Peace, which began as an AIDS healing service for Howard.  Please help out with a donation of any amount — the little bits do add up!  And if you want to give a lot, donate $500 or more and your name will be painted onto the canvas!  We need $3500 to cover the cost of the labyrinth with CA sales tax, a rolling suitcase for storage and travel, a whisk broom, log book, guest book, bell and a supply of disposable paper shoe covers.

Thank you!   Love, Linda
